What To Do When Life Becomes Uncertain

You are not alone; we have all felt life uncertainties at one time or another. We can choose to overthink, or we can overcome these times. If you overthink the outcome, you will begin to experience tension and headaches, and fear will begin to overtake your thoughts. An emotion is connected to each thought which will then become overwhelming.

So, what can you do to overcome these thoughts of uncertainty? First, you need to accept what is in your control and what is not in your control. There are actions you can take for self-preservation. These may sound absurd when you are facing serious matters, but the reality is that you can only live in the present. Try doing the following to create an inner calmness and peaceful mind.

 

JASMINE, SELF HUG AND SPEAK

  1. Jasmine (fresh or oil): Fill a room with fresh jasmine or tap jasmine oil on your outer nostrils. The sweet scent helps alleviate stress and anxiety.

  2. Take both of your arms and give yourself a hug. Hugging yourself will send a message that you are safe.

  3. Find a mantra that you can repeat when doing the above and when you experience negative thoughts. For example, as you take in the jasmine scent with your arms giving yourself a hug, say “I surrender to all uncertainty, I am guided, and I am safe.”


Think about this when you need to put a stop to the incomplete thoughts that are bombarding your mind.
