You are not alone.
We are all trying to get back to normal when life has changed and normal is not the same. Life is not easy, and it is our responsibility to keep our minds healthy. How?
First, do not isolate yourself and share what you are going through with at least one person. With the stats on mental health today, you just may be reaching out to someone who is having the same experience.
Secondly, a long walk creates a psychological shift in our minds. Just being outdoors increases our feel-good endorphins.
Finally, a breathing exercise sends a calming message to our brain. Slowly breathe through your nose to the count of 3 and exhale through your mouth to the count of 6. Breathe in peace and when you exhale, release the negative thoughts. Do this breathing exercise 4 to 5 times. It works!
I know what it is like to live days alone. Everyone around believed I was fine. I was strong as I walked around every day on the verge of tears, and no one had the slightest clue that I was not okay.
I was broken because I believed.
